THOROUGHBRED STALLION “ROADHOG”
Advertised in Stallions 2010

Carrington Park Stud are pleased to announce the arrival of Roadhog as their foundation sire at magnificent Carrington Park Stud in the Southern Highlands. Roadhog by Shovhog out of Dame by Salieri was an incredibly tough, sound and durable sprinter winning 10 races and $335,000 in stakes at 7 different tracks, including Randwick, Rosehill, Caulfield, Sandown and Warwick Farm. These races were run on good, dead, slow and heavy ground, which highlights Roadhog’s versatility.

Roadhog’s sire Shovhog was a devastating juvenile himself, confirmed by his outstanding 2nd place in the Golden Slipper from barrier 18. Roadhog was the epitome of colonial speed and toughness, racing at 2 yrs and training on to win at 7yrs. This is an uncommon trait in racehorses, let alone a stallion today.

His dam Dame by Salieri, (himself broodmare sire of B.O.B's sire sensation Magic Albert), is the dam of 4 winners of 27 races which underlines the toughness of Roadhog's family on his female line. Dame hails from a family bristling with Group 1 performers including Foxwood, Gurners Lane, Trichelle, successful sire Sovereign Red and more recently, NZ horse of the year Xcellent.

We believe Roadhog will tick all the boxes when choosing a stallion for your mares - most notably type, conformation, temperament and soundness. At a first season fee of $2200 including GST, he represents great value for the breeder who desires to breed a winner.

As we say "When the going gets tough, the Roadhogs will get going".

We look forward to any enquiries regarding this exciting new prospect.
